On August 25, 2017, Verna and Ryno Mulder had to live out their biggest nightmare, when their daughter Mienke choked on milk at her daycare and stopped breathing. Miraculously, the doctors were able to revive her, but Mienke had already suffered severe brain damage. This is where the Mulder family's difficult path began.
